EchoPRO stands for:
"ECHOsounder PROject
or
"ECHOsounder PROtotype".
Both acronyms represent the ongoing design on a special vessel: a remotely operated survey vessel.
It perform the following tasks: single-beam, multi-beam and sonarsurveys on shallow water (waterdepths <25meters).
At the moment it is able to perform Single-beam or Side Scan Sonar surveys.
Imagenex Multi-beam is dry-tested and a bracket has been made to connect the Multi-beam to the vessel.
This project started when I first saw a obsolete remote controlled vessel at the site of a former employer. It seemed that the vessel was an abandoned project by the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat ). At this moment I am employed buy the same Ministry and I was able to rejuvenate the project with the latest developments in technology.
